Honored at the 2026 Preservation Achievement Awards, take a tour at Woodmere’s newly renovated Frances M. Maguire Hall for Art & Education.  Formerly known as St. Michael’s Hall when owned by the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Maguire Hall, highlights the strengths of the Museum’s collection with 14 new galleries showcasing contemporary art by Philadelphia’s living artists, as well as notable 20th-century work in Illustration Arts, Modernism and Realism, Stained Glass, Pennsylvania Impressionism, and a collection of jewelry arts from the 19th century to present day. 

Smith Hall

Charles Knox Smith Hall is currently featuring two special exhibitions, Arc of Promise and The Woodmere Annual, in addition to the Founder's Collection. Arc of Promise is an exhibit in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary and explores how Philadelphia’s artists have envisioned “America” as an idea, from the nation’s founding to today. The 83rd Woodmere Annual Juried Exhibition is presented in dialogue with Arc of Promise, celebrating the USA's 250th anniversary, the juror, artist Ron Tarver, invited local artists to submit artworks that engage the theme of family.  

Take a short 7 minute walk to explore Woodmere's main building (Smith Hall) either before or after the tour. Charles Knox Smith Hall, 9201 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19118. Museum admission is included.
