Weatherizing Historic Doors & Entryways
Historic wooden doors, porches, and vestibules add lots of character to historic houses, but keeping them comfortable and energy-efficient can present unique challenges. How can you reduce drafts, improve insulation, and make your home more comfortable without sacrificing the historic features that make it special?
Join the University City Historical Society and YFPA for a hands-on workshop with Michael Manney of Revive Contracting focused on historic entryways, weatherization, and improving comfort in older homes. Through demonstrations and practical guidance, Michael will explore common sources of drafts and heat loss around historic doors and entryways, discuss appropriate weatherization techniques, and demonstrate materials and solutions that homeowners can use to improve their home's performance while respecting its historic character.
The first hour will feature demonstrations and instruction, followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.
